Detectives have been conveyed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, in the continuous probe of former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke. Of interest are five choice houses accepted to have been gained by Diezani with “plundered” assets.
It is all a player in the last leg of the examination of the ex-minister in a joint effort with the National Crime organization in the United Kingdom. With the Port Harcourt operation, a greater amount of her asset in Abuja, supposedly worth over N500million, has been seized.
Pending her trial, EFCC had prior grabbed a house worth N3.58bn from the ex-minister, getting the pull Abuja to about N4.08billion of benefits accepted to be hers.
According to The Nation, the EFCC got knowledge report on the property professedly obtained by Mrs. Alison-Madueke in Port Harcourt.
The tracking of the assets is said to be a piece of the probe of about $10billion purportedly plundered in real money and resources by some former public officiers. The properties under reconnaissance in Port Harcourt are said to be worth over N3billion
A top source in EFCC, who talked in certainty, said: “In view of most recent knowledge, we have possessed the capacity to ftrace more assets for Mrs. Alison-Madueke in Port Harcourt. We have drafted more agents in Rivers State.
“We have recognized more than five of such assets however we have to confirm the proprietorship by experiencing a few archives before appending the properties in accordance with our order.
“In the next one week, our group in Port Harcourt would have finished their task. We will then release the estimation of the benefits. “We are additionally on the trail of a few assistants who were utilized for the property bargains.”
Reacting to an inquiry, the source said: “We are as yet working in a joint effort with NCA in the UK. I think we are getting nearer to the last leg of the Mrs. Alison-Madueke probe.”
Another property, which is believed to be worth N500million, has been seized from the ex-minister. The source said the property is at Frederick Chiluba Close in Asokoro District of Abuja.
