Photos of a seriously twisted sheep which has turned into a web sensation via web-based networking media have been affirmed to be genuine and not a clever or noxious trickery by South Africa.
The originality of the photos was affirmed uncovering that it was of a deformed stillborn sheep which was conceived in the Lady Frere zone.
The division’s Chief Director of Veterinary Services, Dr Lubabalo Mrwebi, said it was normal for pregnant creatures to be tainted by infections at a very early stage in their pregnancy.
He said it was “reasonable to assume” the creature was tainted by the RFV infection and included that the office’s authorities were “edifying” domesticated animals ranchers about the occurrence.
